The Prasinos are close with the Kianos when it comes to the regality of their lineage, and their claim to the ancient prince, but they are not quite there. They have good diplomacy and try to solve their problem through this way more often than through other ways, although they are not weak. They are merely of more average ability on land and sea, although they have been oozing into the power over roads and messengers in the colonies. They are able to export lots of lumber and wooden goods because of the mainly forested areas in their grasp. Still, they have quite a bit of culture, and they are able to boast some of the finest artists, poets, actors, and musicians, who can receive large amounts of money simply for being from Prasinos territory. Their family color is green and their animal is a deer – doe, buck, or stag, depending on the personal preferences of the specific person.
As a family in general, the Prasinos are very proud, and they have a very strong land military. Their navy is much more average, though. The might of their land military is useful in their acquisition of the roads in Mistros; in Alithra, the Prasinos do not have such complete control over the roads, but they have since become toll collectors and guardians from barbarians and bandits in the land of the colonies. This is one way that they get their wealth, from taxing travelers and merchants for using the safety of their roads. It is, of course, possible to get around without paying, if you have the right friends or the right skillset.
They have a very strong emphasis on art and trade, more culture than military. Their trade is mostly land trade, as they trust that their army will be of more use protecting the goods than the navy. Their arts are among the finest in Alithra: poets, artists, authors and playwrights, actors, and musicians all flock to the Prasinos cities to learn from the wide array of famed masters of their specific craft. The best performers often come from the Prasinos, and many will pay a great deal just to see some kind of artist from a Prasinos school.
The Prasinos family appearance is dark overall, with brown or black hair and eyes – though they sometimes have lighter eyes – and tan or olive skin. They are rather different from the Kianos in that regard, as the Kianos are light overall whereas the Prasinos are dark overall. They are the main rivals of the families, the biggest creatures butting heads in the land, and have had the most wars of all the factions in the past.
Claim to the throne: The capital at the time of the death of the king and the disappearance of the queen and prince was in what became Prasinos territory shortly after, and many cities and lands were transferred to the Prasinos general, who happened to be a much beloved legendary warrior. Who better to succeed a huge throne than one chosen by the people themselves? Also, when there is no ruler, a council takes over in the capital, so the rulers of the time were in the capital – which became part of Prasinos territory. They had the power to make national decisions already, and so they should have been able to keep that ability without all the nonsense of looking for lost royalty. [/blockquote]
